My Bio
I have been designing jewelry and wearable art since 1993 when my designs made their debut at the 51st WorldCon in San Francisco. That memorable 5-day convention, I couldn't believe I sold hundreds of dollars in specialty earcuffs whose design was inspired by the then popular Star Trek t.v. show "Star Trek: Deep Space 9". I think it was due to my working on designs at the table where people saw what I was doing and would request custom colors. I could barely keep up with the orders, they were coming in so fast!

Realizing there was a large audience for such cosplay ("costume play") accessories, I continued not only selling my designs in dealer's rooms at conventions from San Francisco to San Diego, but to also submit designs, now expanded to accessories (jewelry boxes, hair picks, fans), cosplay masks and cell phone/iPod purses in art shows. In 1996 I was tickled to win "First Place 3D" in show at Gallifrey 7 in Van Nuys, CA, for my "Snowflake Obisdian" necklace.

I am a long-time transplant from Northern California. Born in Burlingame, I grew up in San Mateo for 17 years before moving to Southern California where I bounced around, living in many cities in the San Fernando Valley, moving out only for a brief, 3-year time span to Los Angeles...my covert plan for avoiding the Northridge Earthquake. When it was safe to return, I chose to sit practically on top of the fault's epicenter, knowing it would be a safe roosting spot for the next 50 years. I've been accused of having an uncanny prediliction for deftly avoiding every, single major earthquake in the state for the past 46 years. My friends and family are watching me intenly for the next time I announce it's time to move again.

Now I live in the San Fernando Valley with my husband, two very artistcally-talented roomies and my three cats. My current projects include creating Doctor Who wallpaper and icon sets, writing fanfic and creating custom beaded bottles. It is my hope that my wearable art can help non-profit organizations raise money for their causes. Once I get the pics up, if after viewing them you would like to commission a custom piece, you can contact me here or at kristine@earthdaughterarts.com. Thanks and sorry this was so long-winded!
